Histopathology of Pinus elliottii var. elliottii needles infected by Ploioderma hedgcockii
Forest Pathology, 1994AbstractThe ascomycete Ploioderma hedgcockii is unique in speculating; on living, as well as on dead needle tissues. The fungus was examined in green and dead needles of Pinus elliottii var. elliottii using light microscopy. Teleomorph and anamorph stromata originated from sub‐hypodermal host tissue.

Fatty acids of Pinus elliottii tissues
Phytochemistry, 1973The total fatty constituents of slash pine (Pinus elliottii) tissue cultures, seeds, and seedlings were examined by GLC and MS. Qualitatively, the fatty acid composition of these tissues was found to be very similar to that reported for other pine species. The fatty acid contents of the tissue cultures resembled that of the seedling tissues.

Resin tapping transcriptome in adult slash pine (Pinus elliottii var. elliottii)
Industrial Crops and Products, 2019Abstract To better understand the bases of resin production, a major source of terpenes for industry, the transcriptome of adult Pinus elliottii var. elliottii (slash pine) trees under field commercial resinosis was obtained. Samples were collected from cambium after 5 and 15 days of treatment application, which included tapping followed by ...

Some mycorrhizal fungi of Pinus radiata and P. elliottii var. elliottii in Australia
Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1970Several successful attempts to isolate the fungal endophyte directly from mycorrhizas of Pirns radiata D. Don and Pinus elliottii Engelm. var. elliottii Little & Dorman are described. Recovery of clamp-connexion bearing hyphae varied from o to 40%.

Slash Pine (Pinus elliottii Engelm.)
1991Slash Pine (Pinus elliottii Engelm.) (Fig. 1) is one of the most important tree species throughout the entire Southeast and South Central United States, but especially east of the Mississippi River. It is the third most important in volume use of the southern yellow pines (Pinus subsect.

Whole-tree water relations of co-occurring mature Pinus palustris and Pinus elliottii var.elliottii
Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2011The natural range of longleaf pine ( Pinus palustris P. Mill.) and slash pine ( Pinus elliottii var. elliottii Engelm.) includes most of the southeastern US Coastal Plain, and there is now considerable interest in using these species for ecological forestry, restoration, and carbon sequestration.

In Vitro Manipulation of Slash Pine (Pinus Elliottii)
1988Slash pine is being developed as a model system for the study of genetic and biochemical manipulation in southern conifers. Slash pine is of tremendous economic importance to the southeastern United States, and has been the subject of intensive tree improvement efforts. The species is amenable to standard cotyledonary micropropagation techniques and to

Abstract P. elliottii var. elliottii is an important timber species native to the lower coastal plain within the southeastern USA. Because of its rapid early growth and its production of highly valuable wood products, it has been widely introduced into other countries. As an exotic, it is used in Africa, especially in southern Africa,

Cryopreservation of Hybrid Pinus elliottii × P. caribaea
2018The cryopreservation of embryogenic cultures within operational forestry proves to be a crucial tool, to store clones without loss of juvenility, while field tests, to identify genotypes with significant genetic gain, are being conducted. Besides several conifers species have been cryopreserved till now, only few studies have been reported for hybrid ...
