Alnus cordata is an endemic tree species native to the Southern Italian Apennines and north‐eastern Corsica, renowned for its ecological significance. We analyzed the genetic diversity, population structure, and extent of hybridization with A. glutinosa in 23 A. cordata forest stands across its native Italian range.

This meta‐analysis on intraspecific variation in European trees studied the frequency of provenance variation, provenance–environment interaction, clinal variation along the climate of origin or transfer distance. While identifying trait group specific patterns of variation, research gaps have been identified in terms of age and geographical ...

Karaçam (Pinus nigra Arnold.) kabuklarının izolasyon levhası üretiminde değerlendirilmesi
Materials used in buildings to provide heat and sound insulation are developing depending on technological innovations, and in recent years the use of environmental and ecological materials has gained importance. Waste tree bark obtained by debarking of tree trunks are generally used in energy production.

Our results suggest that phyllosphere fungi play a relevant role in the assembly of the sapling bank in forest communities, thus, potentially influencing plant community dynamics. Beyond the well‐known negative effect of pathogenic fungi on recruitment, our results show the mutualistic effect of fungal epiphytes and a dual role of saprotrophs as ...

Site‐Specific Impacts of Urbanisation on Annual Survival of a Forest Bird
We used a long‐term dataset to estimate the apparent annual survival probabilities of adult great tits (Parus major) in two urban and two forest breeding habitats. Our CJS models showed the highest survival in one urban site and the lowest in the other urban site, while the two forest sites were in between the two during the study years. The age of the

Taxonomic differences between Pinus sylvestris and P. uncinata revealed in the stomata and cuticle characters for use in the study of fossil material [PDF]
Taxonomic differences in the needle epidermis characteristics of Pinus sylvestris L. and Pinus uncinata Ramond ex DC. from two Iberian populations were sought; such information could help identify these species when pollen analysis and the inspection of ...

Cutin fluorescence in early embryos of Pinus and Tsuga
Embryos of Pinus nigra Arnold and Tsuga canadensis Carr. (Pinaceae) at different stages of development were dissected from fresh, unfixed seeds and examined in a fluorescence microscope with 400 nm excitation light.

Changes in soil characteristics under different aged plantations of Corsican pine (pinus nigra) at Chopwell Woodland Park, Gateshead, UK [PDF]
This study examines the pedogenic processes and temporal changes occurring in soils across six different aged plantations of Corsican pine (Pinus nigra), which were otherwise similar in their environmental characteristics, including geology, slope angle ...
