Selective phytotoxicity of hexazinone to Pinus resinosa and Pinus banksiana

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 1992
Hexazinone (3-cyclohexyl-6-(dimethylamino)-1-methyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione) is an s-triazine herbicide that is used widely to control weeds in forest plantations and on industrial rights-of-way. Under controlled environmental conditions, red pine (Pinus resinosa Ait.) has been shown to have greater tolerance to hexazinone than jack pine (Pinus

Conservation of Potassium in the Pinus resinosa Ecosystem

Science, 1977
Rubidium-potassium ratios were determined on foliage, litter, and surface soils of plots in two plantations of Pinus resinosa 41 to 46 years old previously fertilized once with potassium. Calculations based on indigenous soil rubidium as the "tagging" ion demonstrate that after 9 years some 60 percent of the foliage

VARIATION IN SHOOT ELONGATION OF PINUS RESINOSA AIT.

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1966
Shoot elongation and associated phenological and morphological variables were measured and analyzed for an 8-year-old provenance experiment planted in central Wisconsin. Geographic origin of seed significantly affected elongation and all associated characteristics except initiation date of elongation.
