Polyisoprenols in Pinus sylvestris needles
Phytochemistry, 1974Abstract A polyisoprenoid fraction was isolated from the needles of Pinus sylvestris and comprised about 1% of the dry weight. MS, IR, GLC and HPLC analyses showed that the fraction consisted of polyisoprenylacetates, with 10–19 isoprene units predominantly in the cis configuration.

Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2006The chemical composition of the individual organs (needles, needleless runners, buds, cones) of common pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) was studied in order to develop and improve industrial reprocessing of green wood. Second-year cones have not been studied previously. We attempted to find the dominant components of the extract.

A long series of observations on the elongating shoots of Pinus sylvestris showed that during the elongating period the new shoots are subject to nutations, which are caused by differentiation of the water pressure on the different sides, resulting in growth curves in the direction where the turgidity was least.

Micropropagation of Pinus sylvestris
1993Pinus sylvestris is one of the most widespread conifers in Europe and Asia. Its geographic boundaries lie between 70°20′ northern latitude in Scandinavia and 38°41′ south in Central Turkey, and the species survives at altitudes of up to 2000m [52]. It is a very variable species that grows on different types of soils.
