Variation in needle and cone traits in natural populations of Pinus yunnanensis
Journal of Forestry Research, 2015Pinus yunnanensis Franch. is a major component of coniferous forests in southwestern China. Little is known about its intraspecific variation. Morphological variations in needle and cone traits of P. yunnanensis were analyzed to quantify variability among and within natural populations.

Bark beetles Tomicus yunnanensis and T. minor are two important pests of Pinus yunnanensis and can cause massive death of pine trees. In this study, we examined several traits related to photosynthesis in P. yunnanensis and their relationship with antibiotic defense responses after joint attack by the two bark beetles at the shoot and the trunk stages.

Abstract Pinus yunnanensis was subjected to water-bath and microwave treatments in 1% NaOH aqueous solutions at 100 °C with various ratios of bath heating time to microwave heating time (0/120, 20/100, 40/80, 60/60, 80/40, 100/20 and 120/0 min).

[Vertical distribution of fuels in Pinus yunnanensis forest and related affecting factors].
Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2014In order to understand the effects of fuel loadings spatial distribution on forest fire kinds and behaviors, the canopy fuels and floor fuels of Pinus yunnanensis forests with different canopy density, diameter at breast height (DBH), tree height, and stand age and at different altitude, slope grade, position, and aspect in Southwest China were taken ...
