Pion Production and the Pion-Pion Interaction
Physical Review Letters, 1959The cross sections for pi /sup -/ + p yields pi /sup -/ + pi /sup +/ + n at inc ident energies between 260 and 430 have been measured in a previous expeniment. A theoretical interpretation of these results is presented. An attempt is made to fit the results by using a direct pion-pion interaction.

Pion Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions and the Pion-Pion Interaction
Physical Review, 1962Momentum distributions of the pions of all charge states produced in the interaction of 960-Mev pi /sup -/ mesons with protons are calculated assuming a primary pi pi interaction followed by a pi -N interaction with excitation of the (3,3) isobar state of the nucleon. Predicted spectra are in reasonable agreement with experimental data when the pi - pi

Pion-induced pion production in nuclei
Physical Review C, 1997The process of pion-induced pion production in nuclei has been studied with the A(π+,π+π-) and A(π+,π+π-p) reactions for four nuclei 2H, 12C, 40Ca, and 208Pb at an incident pion energy of Tπ+=283 MeV. The π+π- and π+π-p particles in the final state were detected in coincidence with the CHAOS spectrometer at TRIUMF.

Evidence for pion-pion interactions froms-wave pion-nucleon scattering
Il Nuovo Cimento, 1961By fitting the s-wave partial amplitudes for π-Open image in new window-scattering, in an unphysical region, we have greatly extended the energy range over which we can examine the contribution from the process π+π→Open image in new window. Our method shows up contributions from this process in states of isotopic spinT=0 andT=1.

Pion Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions
Physical Review, 1957The production of a single pion in pion-nucleon collisions has been studied by using the Chew-Low formalism with $p$-wave coupling. The equation for the $T$-matrix is solved by using the one-meson approximation. The solution is used to compute the cross sections for pion production and the two-meson corrections to the scattering equation of Chew and ...

Perturbation Theory of Pion-Pion Interaction. II. Two-Pion Approximation
Physical Review, 1962Using the model of a four-particle direct interaction without derivative coupling, relations are obtained between the renormallzed quantities related to pion-pion interactions. Considering only the two-pion intermediate states but preserving crossing symmetry and unitarity up to the production threshold, closed systems of nonlinear integral equations ...

Pion-pion amplitudes from low energy pion-production
Physics Letters, 1962The amplitudes of the process pi + N yields 2 pi + N are approximately summing all one-particle states (six nucleonpoles and one pion- pole) and allowing for the influence of more-particle states by reducing the obtained cross sections by 25%. Theoretical cross sections, including the pi - pole contributions, are adapted to the experimental cross ...

Pion-Pion Scattering and Low-Energy Pion Production
Physical Review, 1962A model for the reaction $\ensuremath{\pi}+N\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2\ensuremath{\pi}+N$ at low energies, with $\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\pi}$ scattering lengths as parameters, discussed in a previous analysis is extended by removing the assumption that $\frac{{a}_{0}}{{a}_{2}}=\frac{5}{2}$. The parameters are determined by using the ${

Asymptotic Pion-Pion Elastic Scattering Amplitude
Physical Review, 1963The elastic scattering amplitude for neutral pseudoscalar particles is calculated in the limit of high energies and small momentum transfer. We have kept all inelastic channels in the intermediate state and exchanging only two particles. This resulting expression gives the upper and lower bounds on the total cross section $\frac{b}{s}l\ensuremath ...
