Pion-Pion Interaction in Electromagnetic Processes
Physical Review, 1960The correction to the photon propagator due to the emission of a virtual pion pair is evaluated considering the effect of the strong pion-pion interaction in the J = 1, T = 1 state of the pions recently discussed by several authors. Results are given for different sets of parameters describing the pion form factor, and the pcssibility of investigating ...

Pion Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions and the Pion-Pion Interaction
Physical Review, 1962Momentum distributions of the pions of all charge states produced in the interaction of 960-Mev pi /sup -/ mesons with protons are calculated assuming a primary pi pi interaction followed by a pi -N interaction with excitation of the (3,3) isobar state of the nucleon. Predicted spectra are in reasonable agreement with experimental data when the pi - pi

On the photoproduction of pions on pions
Il Nuovo Cimento, 1962An integral equation for the amplitude of the photoproduction of pions on pions is derived from unitarity and Mandelstam representation. An iteration technique for obtaining approximate solutions is adopted and illustrated by assuming a sharp pion-pion resonance in theP ...

Pion-induced pion production on the deuteron
Physical Review C, 1986Pion-induced pion production on the deuteron was studied via the reactions d pp and d nn. The doubly differential cross sections for these reactions were measured, covering the center-of-mass phase space at incident pion energies of 256, 331, and 450 MeV.

Pion-induced pion production in nuclei
Physical Review C, 1997The process of pion-induced pion production in nuclei has been studied with the A(π+,π+π-) and A(π+,π+π-p) reactions for four nuclei 2H, 12C, 40Ca, and 208Pb at an incident pion energy of Tπ+=283 MeV. The π+π- and π+π-p particles in the final state were detected in coincidence with the CHAOS spectrometer at TRIUMF.

Pion-pion scattering in the two-pion exchange approximation
Il Nuovo Cimento, 1962The results of a calculation of pion-pion scattering in two-pion exchange approximation are presented. IfS andP-waves are subtracted and iftmax≲16 andsmax≲1 600 the equations converge. It is found that there is little alteration in the low-energy solutions obtained in an earlier calculation using Legendre polynomial expansions to determine the left cut.

s-wave pion-nucleon scattering and pion-pion interactions
Annals of Physics, 1962Abstract Using a partial wave dispersion relation we show how the low-energy s -wave π- N interactions can be separated into long range and short range parts. The phase shifts used in deriving our previously reported results are examined, and a critical survey of the errors and uncertainties in the method is given.

Pion Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions
Physical Review, 1957The production of a single pion in pion-nucleon collisions has been studied by using the Chew-Low formalism with $p$-wave coupling. The equation for the $T$-matrix is solved by using the one-meson approximation. The solution is used to compute the cross sections for pion production and the two-meson corrections to the scattering equation of Chew and ...

Evidence Concerning Pion-Pion Interactions below the 765-Mev Pion-Pion Resonance
Physical Review, 1962A search has been made for pion-pion resonances in the reaction ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}+{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}+p$ at incident pion energies of 871 Mev and 775 Mev, using a sodium-iodide luminescent chamber as a detector. The spectra of ${m}^{*}$, the total energy of the two pions
