Pion-Pion Interaction in Electromagnetic Processes

Physical Review, 1960
The correction to the photon propagator due to the emission of a virtual pion pair is evaluated considering the effect of the strong pion-pion interaction in the J = 1, T = 1 state of the pions recently discussed by several authors. Results are given for different sets of parameters describing the pion form factor, and the pcssibility of investigating ...

Pion Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions and the Pion-Pion Interaction

Physical Review, 1962
Momentum distributions of the pions of all charge states produced in the interaction of 960-Mev pi /sup -/ mesons with protons are calculated assuming a primary pi pi interaction followed by a pi -N interaction with excitation of the (3,3) isobar state of the nucleon. Predicted spectra are in reasonable agreement with experimental data when the pi - pi

T=2 pion-pion scattering

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1969
Angular distributions for π−π− scattering have been studied using the reaction π−p→π−π−π+p at 2.26 GeV/c. TheT=2D-wave phase shift is discussed.

Pion pion interaction in

Nuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 2010
The excellent agreement between a prediction and a measurement of the pion pion scattering lengths by NA48 collaboration is an important validation of the Chiral Dynamics approach.

Pion-induced pion production in nuclei

Physical Review C, 1997
The process of pion-induced pion production in nuclei has been studied with the A(π+,π+π-) and A(π+,π+π-p) reactions for four nuclei 2H, 12C, 40Ca, and 208Pb at an incident pion energy of Tπ+=283 MeV. The π+π- and π+π-p particles in the final state were detected in coincidence with the CHAOS spectrometer at TRIUMF.

S-Wave pion-pion scattering

Il Nuovo Cimento A Series 10, 1966
AnS-matrix calculation is made using theN/D method for the low-energyS-wave π-π scattering. The approximation involves replacing the left-hand cut by two poles whose positions are fixed a priori. Their residues are then determined using the approximate crossing relations at the symmetry point.

Pion in the medium and pion optics

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1993
The description of π-nucleus interaction in the energy region of the Δ-resonance in terms of pion optics is reviewed. From the phenomenological π-optical potential analysis of Masutani and Yazaki it is inferred that the pion dispersion equation cannot be solved perturbatively at the effective nuclear-surface density at which the interaction occurs.

Pion Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions

Physical Review, 1957
The production of a single pion in pion-nucleon collisions has been studied by using the Chew-Low formalism with $p$-wave coupling. The equation for the $T$-matrix is solved by using the one-meson approximation. The solution is used to compute the cross sections for pion production and the two-meson corrections to the scattering equation of Chew and ...

Test for Pion-Pion Resonance

Physical Review Letters, 1961
The possibility of using a decay mcde as a test for pi - pi resonance is examined in terms of statistical theory. The annihilation p-bar + n yields pi /sup -/ + pi /sup -/ + pi /sup +/ should be ideal for detecting pi - pi resonances, particularly in the (+ -) correlation. Some pion mass squared distributions are shown for the p-bar + n reaction.

Pion-Pion Scattering and Low-Energy Pion Production

Physical Review, 1962
A model for the reaction $\ensuremath{\pi}+N\ensuremath{\rightarrow}2\ensuremath{\pi}+N$ at low energies, with $\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{-}\ensuremath{\pi}$ scattering lengths as parameters, discussed in a previous analysis is extended by removing the assumption that $\frac{{a}_{0}}{{a}_{2}}=\frac{5}{2}$. The parameters are determined by using the ${
