Gluon parton distribution of the pion from lattice QCD

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
We present the first determination of the x-dependent pion gluon distribution from lattice QCD using the pseudo-PDF approach. We use lattice ensembles with 2+1+1 flavors of highly improved staggered quarks (HISQ), generated by MILC Collaboration, at two ...

Pion Production by Negative Pions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1961
The reaction pi /sup -/ + p yields pi /sup +/ + pi /sup -/ + n is studied for incident T/sub i- = 365 and 432 Mev. The energy spectra of the ernergent pi /sup +/ mesons are measured at various angles with respect to the incident pi /sup -/ beam. The differential cross sections are analyzed in terms of pion-pion interactions and pionnuclecn resonances. (

Phases of cold holographic QCD: Baryons, pions and rho mesons

open access: yesSciPost Physics, 2023
We improve the holographic description of isospin-asymmetric baryonic matter within the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model by accounting for a realistic pion mass, computing the pion condensate dynamically, and including rho meson condensation by allowing the ...

Pion-Pion Interaction and Pion-Nucleon Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 1960
Pion-pion interaction is analyzed by using the dispersion relation for pion-nucleon scattering obtained by keeping the momentum transfer between an initial pion and a final nucleon constant. In order to take into account the singularity of two-pion threshold in the dispersion relation, the dispersion relation may be regarded as an integral equation for

Valence-quark distribution of the kaon and pion from lattice QCD

open access: yes, 2021

Valence parton distribution of the pion from lattice QCD: Approaching the continuum limit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We present a high-statistics lattice QCD determination of the valence parton distribution function (PDF) of pion, with a mass of $300$ MeV, using two very fine lattice spacings of $a=0.06$ fm and $0.04$ fm.

Pion-pion scattering amplitude [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2005
We obtain reliable ππ scattering amplitudes consistent with experimental data, both at low and high energies, and fulfilling appropriate analyticity properties. We do this by first fitting experimental low energy [s^(1/2) ≤ (1.42 GeV] phase shifts and inelasticities with expressions that incorporate analyticity and unitarity.

Chiral symmetry breaking: Current experimental status and prospects [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
Chiral symmetry, linked to the smallness of the quark masses compared to the QCD bound states, and its breaking pattern are exploited in effective field theory to describe a multitude of phenomena by a few low-energy constants.

Pion valence quark distribution from matrix element calculated in lattice QCD [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2019
We present the first exploratory lattice QCD calculation of the pion valence quark distribution extracted from spatially separated current-current correlations in coordinate space.
