Computational Simulations of Metal–Organic Frameworks to Enhance Adsorption Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the significance of molecular simulations in expanding the understanding of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) and improving their gas adsorption applications. The historical development and implementation of molecular simulations in the MOF field are given, high‐throughput computational screening studies used to unlock the ...

Generic Processes in the Production of Relations among Incarcerated Juvenile African American Males and Female Correctional Officers

open access: yesSociation Today, 2009
Using data obtained through direct observation of three correctional facilities in South Carolina, the authors build on the concept of thugging and piping to explore ways in which incarceration contributes to African American male youths' misogynist ...

System remotely inspects, measures, and records internal irregularities in piping [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Video electromechanical probe visually inspects and measures internal offset and peaking of welds in relatively large piping. Irregularity dimensions are recorded on peripheral equipment consisting of video tape and X-Y plotter.

Adsorption and Separation by Flexible MOFs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Flexible metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) present significant potential for gas storage and separation due to their structural dynamic. This review explores the rationale behind the flexible MOFs' enhanced working capacity and separation factors. It also addresses key challenges, including phase transition kinetics, crystal robustness, cycling, shaping,

Piping erosion safety assessment of flood defences founded over sewer pipes

open access: yes, 2018
Piping erosion is one of the major causes of failure of flood defences. The occurrence of this failure mechanism is difficult to predict and it can be triggered during a flood event.

High‐Performance Recyclable Polyester Elastomers Through Transient Strain‐Stiffening

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transient strain‐crystallization simultaneously strengthens and toughens block polyester elastomers while conserving recyclability. Using controlled polymerization catalysis and commercial monomers, block polyester elastomers outperform current commercial elastomers, entering a new region of tensile mechanical property space.
