This study demonstrates that pulsed potential electrolysis significantly improves CO2 reduction performance on copper‐nitrogen doped carbon electrodes. The formation of cationic copper sites and metallic clusters as a function of applied intermittent potential leads to notable selectivity changes compared to potentiostatic reduction.

Reevaluating the Activity of ZIF‐8 Based FeNCs for Electrochemical Ammonia Production
Though receiving much attention, the field of electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (eNRR) to ammonia is marked by doubts about whether this reaction is possible in aqueous media. This work sheds light on this question for iron single‐atom on N‐doped carbon (FeNC) catalysts—a class of well‐known catalysts that is also worth testing for the sister

Unleashing the Power of Machine Learning in Nanomedicine Formulation Development
A random forest machine learning model is able to make predictions on nanoparticle attributes of different nanomedicines (i.e. lipid nanoparticles, liposomes, or PLGA nanoparticles) based on microfluidic formulation parameters. Machine learning models are based on a database of nanoparticle formulations, and models are able to generate unique solutions

Heat exchanger tubes supported in high vibration environment [PDF]
Cantilevered structure supports heat exchanger coils against vibration loading while allowing freedom for differential thermal growth. The support channels will accept a variety of coil angles with the same coil pitch, thus reducing the number of parts ...

This study investigates electromechanical PUFs that improve on traditional electric PUFs. The electron transport materials are coated randomly through selective ligand exchange. It produces multiple keys and a key with motion dependent on percolation and strain, and approaches almost ideal inter‐ and intra‐hamming distances.

BFC Method For Prediction of Transient Head on Seepage Path
Seepage causes weakening of levees and can cause levee failure or overtopping due to levee settlement. A numerical method, called the boundary fitted coordinate (BFC) method, was developed to determine seepage through a levee and the transient head on ...

Heat and Moisture Conduction in Unsaturated Soils [PDF]
Mathematical models are developed for the prediction of heat transfer from hot water pipes buried in the soil. Heat transfer in the absence of moisture transfer is described as a function of the difference between the temperature of the pipe and the ...

A Termite‐Inspired Alternative to Cement
A termite‐inspired composite of clay, cellulose, and lignin forms a dense fibrous network with concrete‐like strength (32 MPa) and superior elasticity, processed at ambient temperature. Abstract Clay combined with organic materials is used by termites as a strong and durable construction material for their mounds with minimal environmental impact. Here,
