Wet etch methods for InAs nanowire patterning and self-aligned electrical contacts
Advanced synthesis of semiconductor nanowires (NWs) enables their application in diverse fields, notably in chemical and electrical sensing, photovoltaics, or quantum electronic devices. In particular, Indium Arsenide (InAs) NWs are an ideal platform for

Depth resolved grazing incidence scattering from the solid-liquid interface
We have applied small angle scattering in grazing incidence beam geometry on a time-of-flight neutron instrument. Due to the broad wavelength distribution provided for a specific incident beam angle the penetration depth of the neutron beam is varied ...

Electrically Guided DNA Immobilization and Multiplexed DNA Detection with Nanoporous Gold Electrodes. [PDF]
Molecular diagnostics have significantly advanced the early detection of diseases, where the electrochemical sensing of biomarkers (e.g., DNA, RNA, proteins) using multiple electrode arrays (MEAs) has shown considerable promise.

TREX1, a predator for treating MSI‐H tumors?
Immunotherapy benefits many patients; yet, some with MSI‐H tumors remain unresponsive despite their high immunogenicity. Xu et al. reveal that TREX1 enables immune evasion by degrading cytosolic DNA and suppressing cGAS–STING–IFN‐I signaling. TREX1 loss restores DNA sensing, increases CD8+ T and NK cell infiltration, and boosts antitumor immunity ...

The Success of the Light Armoured Vehicle [PDF]
Since the 1970s, budget constraints and debates over the tank’s relevance have prompted the Canadian Forces (CF) to pursue lighter, cheaper, and more flexible vehicles.

Acoustic homogeneity in the piranha Serrasalmus maculatus
AbstractDifferent studies suggest some social calls could be used in fish identification if their specificity is unambiguously assessed. Sounds of different populations of piranhas Serrasalmus maculatus Kner, 1858 were recorded to determine their homogeneity between rivers inside a single basin (Araguari and Grande River, upper Paraná River basin) and ...

Biomimetic Iridescent Skin: Robust Prototissues Spontaneously Assembled from Photonic Protocells
Uniform nanoparticles are induced to form arrays (photonic crystals) in the cores of biopolymer capsules, endowing these ‘protocells’ with structural color. These protocells are then assembled into large self‐standing objects, i.e., prototissues, with robust mechanical properties as well as iridescent optical properties.
