Antioxidant enzyme activities in maize plants colonized with Piriformospora indica

Microbiology, 2009
The bioprotection performance ofPiriformospora indicaagainst the root parasiteFusarium verticillioideswas studied. We found that maize plants first grown withF. verticillioidesand at day 10 inoculated withP. indicashowed improvements in biomass, and root length and number as compared with plants grown withF. verticillioidesalone.

Co-cultivation of Piriformospora indica with Azotobacter sp.

2017
The ever growing human population and depletion of resources have enforced progress in sustainable agriculture. Plant–rhizosphere microbe association has been known for some time now. To uphold sustainability, one would need to show better reliance upon the beneficial traits possessed by the root microbiome.

Mass Cultivation of Piriformospora indica and Sebacina Species

2013
Symbiotic arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi Sebacinales can be easily mass multiplied on defined synthetic media. Piriformospora indica, the symbiotic fungi can be grown in a root of a living plant and under axenic culture. Scientists can take privilege of carrying out certain basic research to understand the molecular basis of plant–microbes interaction ...

Inhibitory Interactions of Rhizobacteria with the Symbiotic Fungus Piriformospora indica

2013
Interactions between plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs) and the symbiotic plant growth-promoting fungus Piriformospora indica were demonstrated by adopting several working models. Different rhizobacteria either inhibit, promote, or have no influence on stimulatory effect of P. indica in gnotobiotic barley plants.

Biophysical Phenomics: Evaluation of the Impact of Mycorrhization with Piriformospora indica

2013
Piriformospora indica, a root endophyte with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi-like characteristics and the added important advantage that it can grow axenically, has been proven to be a powerful new candidate symbiont for improving plant production and crop yield in sustainable agriculture, flori–horticulture and agroforestry.

Detection and Characterization of Endobacteria in the Fungal Endophyte Piriformospora indica

2017
The nonpathogenic Alphaproteobacterium Rhizobium radiobacter (syn. Agrobacterium tumefaciens) (RrF4) is a subculture of the endobacterium R. radiobacter, which is intricately associated with its host, the beneficial plant-colonizing fungal basidiomycete Piriformospora indica.
