Toward sustainable management: 2D modelling of a self-cleaning system to improve geometry in front of the flushing gate [PDF]
This paper aims to show how numerical modelling based on 2D SWE can be used to analyze the cleaning effectiveness of flushing waves in storm tanks.

Alternative Multipole Vectors for the CMB Temperature Fluctuations [PDF]
We introduce new, low-$\ell$, multipole vectors for the CMB temperature fluctuations. A very strong alignment of the quadrupole and octopole vectors is observed as well as a remarkably low declination of these vectors with respect to the galactic plane.

Dynamical next-to-next-to-leading order parton distributions and the perturbative stability of F_L(x,Q^2) [PDF]
It is shown that the previously noted extreme perturbative instability of the longitudinal structure function F_L(x,Q^2) in the small Bjorken-$x$ region, is a mere artefact of the commonly utilized `standard' gluon distributions. In particular it is demonstrated that using the appropriate -- dynamically generated -- parton distributions at NLO and NNLO,

Free-Floating HI Clouds in the M 81 Group
Recent VLA observations pointed at dwarf spheroidal (dSph) galaxies in the M 81 group reveal a hitherto hidden population of extremely low mass (~1e5 Msol) HI clouds with no obvious optical counterparts.

A supernova remnant coincident with the slow X-ray pulsar AX J1845-0258 [PDF]
We report on Very Large Array observations in the direction of the recently-discovered slow X-ray pulsar AX J1845-0258. In the resulting images, we find a 5-arcmin shell of radio emission; the shell is linearly polarized with a non-thermal spectral index.

Measuring the halo mass function in loose groups [PDF]
Using data from our Parkes & ATCA HI survey of six groups analogous to the Local Group, we find that the HI mass function and velocity distribution function for loose groups are the same as those for the Local Group. Both mass functions confirm that the "missing satellite" problem exists in other galaxy groups.

ABSTRACT Institutional voids are often presented as challenges of doing business in emerging markets. We seek to understand how the presence of institutional voids impacts foreign operations and the capabilities required in such environments, within an African setting. We examine this through a qualitative case study of a South African MNE operating in
