Population dynamics of Pistia stratiotes L.
Rendiconti Lincei. Scienze Fisiche e Naturali, 2019Pistia stratiotes is one of the worst weeds in the world, and it adversely affects the environment and biodiversity. A large gap remains in the quantitative knowledge about the growth, biomass and life cycle of this invasive macrophyte under natural conditions in Egypt. Therefore, this study aims to determine the monthly variation in P.

Uranium biosorption by Lemna sp. and Pistia stratiotes
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2019Biosorption-based technologies have been proposed for the removal of radionuclides from radioactive liquid waste containing organic compounds. Nevertheless, pytoremediation potential of uranium (U) by nonliving aquatic macrophytes Lemna sp. and Pistia stratiotes has not been previously addressed.

Pistia Stratiotes L. - Water Lettuce
2012Pistia stratiotes, water lettuce, is a free-floating aquatic weed that has naturalised in Qld and NSW. It is also found in the NT, where it is considered to be native. Water lettuce is fast-growing and has the ability to form dense mats, blocking waterways and interfering with access to water, fishing and hydro-electric flows.
