Representations of pitch and slow modulation in auditory cortex [PDF]
Iterated ripple noise (IRN) is a type of pitch-evoking stimulus that is commonly used in neuroimaging studies of pitch processing. When contrasted with a spectrally matched Gaussian noise, it is known to produce a consistent response in a region of ...

Diotic and Dichotic Mechanisms of Discrimination Threshold in Musicians and Non-Musicians
The perception of harmonic complexes provides important information for musical and vocal communication. Numerous studies have shown that musical training and expertise are associated with better processing of harmonic complexes, however, it is unclear ...

This article is a review of the psychophysical study of pitch perception. The history of the study of pitch has seen a continual competition between spectral and temporal theories of pitch perception. The pitch of complex stimuli is likely based on the temporal regularities in a sound's waveform, with the strongest pitches occurring for stimuli with ...

The effect of stimulus context on pitch representations in the human auditory cortex [PDF]
Neuroimaging studies of pitch coding seek to identify pitch-related responses separate from responses to other properties of the stimulus, such as its energy onset, and other general aspects of the listening context.

Hyper-Sensitivity to Pitch and Poorer Prosody Processing in Adults With Autism: An ERP Study
Individuals with autism typically experience a range of symptoms, including abnormal sensory sensitivities. However, there are conflicting reports on the sensory profiles that characterize the sensory experience in autism that often depend on the type of

Hexacopter Pitch Estimator for a Pitch Stabilizer
Abstract The paper presents the development and mathematical modelling of an estimator within the control scheme of the pitch motion of a hexacopter. The pitch estimator is constructed as a classic Luenberger-Kalman filter. The authors also discuss the problem of acceleration measurement realized during the flight of the hexacopter.
