Pitchfork bifurcation of a class of discrete dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
A class of discrete dynamical systems is introduced to unify various dynamical systems that appeared in the study of phase transition phenomenon of Ising model on the Cayley tree. We give an alternative method to study the stable fixed points of these dynamical systems.

Multi-site breathers in Klein-Gordon lattices: stability, resonances, and bifurcations

open access: yes, 2013
We prove the most general theorem about spectral stability of multi-site breathers in the discrete Klein-Gordon equation with a small coupling constant.

Spatiotemporal Transcriptomic Atlas Reveals the Regulatory Mechanisms Underlying Early Inflorescence Development and Sex Differentiation in Spinach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐resolution spatiotemporal transcriptomic data from male and female spinach inflorescences across four key stages first reveal the sex differentiation initiates at the four‐leaf stage and is governed by epigenetic regulation via the SpMSI1‐SpHDT2 complex.

Thermosolutal and binary fluid convection as a 2 x 2 matrix problem

open access: yes, 2001
We describe an interpretation of convection in binary fluid mixtures as a superposition of thermal and solutal problems, with coupling due to advection and proportional to the separation parameter S.

A kinematically Bifurcated Metamaterial for Integrated Logic Operation and Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A family of 2n‐side kinematic polygonal modules with n decoupled inputs and 2n extreme configurations via kinematic bifurcation is proposed. It allows integrating seven basic logic gates on a quadrilateral module. Moreover, a minimized Parallel Computing Sum of Products function is developed, enabling all 2‐bit arithmetic (including division ...

NLS Bifurcations on the bowtie combinatorial graph and the dumbbell metric graph

open access: yes, 2018
We consider the bifurcations of standing wave solutions to the nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation (NLS) posed on a quantum graph consisting of two loops connected by a single edge, the so-called dumbbell, recently studied by Marzuola and Pelinovsky.

Durable Lithium Metal Anodes Enabled by {110}‐Textured Epitaxy on a LiF@Ag Commensurate Heterostructure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing their commensurate lattices, a LiF@Ag heterostructure is fabricated for Li epitaxy, featuring Ag nanoparticles grown on 2D LiF layers. The composition pinning effect inhibits Li‐Ag alloying and maintains the high lithiophilicity and fast adatom migration associated with Ag.

Two pitchfork bifurcations in the polar quadratic Zeeman-Stark effect

open access: yesPhysics Letters A, 1998
In the framework of classical mechanics, a study of the hydrogen atom in the presence of parallel electric and magnetic fields is presented when the magnetic quantum number m is zero. By means of perturbation methods and Poincaré surfaces of section, the existence of the three states experimentally detected by Cacciani et al.

Analysis of the Navigation of Magnetic Microrobots through Cerebral Bifurcations for Targeted Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The motion of magnetic microrobots through cerebral bifurcations depends on various parameters such as the microrobots size, the blood velocity, and the imposed magnetic field gradients, among others. This work presents an in‐depth analysis of the effects of these parameters and equations predicting the required magnetic gradients based on the ...
