What caused the Cambrian Explosion? The geologically simultaneous appearance of numerous animal phyla at the base of the Cambrian was caused by an epidemic of Cambrian Explosion (CE) virus, a “phylagen” (as opposed to pathogen) that was able to infect and reconfigure metazoan morphogenetic fields and genomic kernels.

A Hellenistic Pithos from Corinth
Hesperia, 1970'The clearing of the three wellshafts, all apparently belonging to a single water system, was undertaken at the request of the Ephor, Mr. Pallas. The excavation of Katsoulis Well No. 3 (Corinth Grid J 17/j 5) was supervised by Professor Henry S. Robinson, then Director of the School, who kindly gave me permission -to publish the pithos.

The Mykonos Ilioupersis Pithos
1997Abstract One of the earliest surviving examples of Ilioupersis scenes in combination is also one of the most spectacular: a large terracotta pithos found on the island of Mykonos and dated to the second quarter of the seventh century BC (Cat. no. 2*-Figs. 2(a) and (b) ).
