Abstract Two eclogite samples from the Haut‐Allier record a prograde evolution from ~20 kbar, 650°C to 750°C, 22–23 kbar followed by heating up to 850–875°C and partial melting. Incipient decompression in high‐pressure granulite facies conditions (19.5 kbar, 875°C) was followed by exhumation to high‐temperature amphibolite facies conditions (<9 kbar ...

Prograde zircon growth in migmatites
Abstract Empirical studies of zircon in migmatites document features compatible with growth during heating at suprasolidus conditions. However, numerical modelling of zircon behaviour suggests that suprasolidus zircon is expected to grow only during cooling and melt crystallization.

We describe the genetic characteristics and dynamics, and the recent evolutionary history of the Canarian houbara bustard, an endemic to the Canary Islands. We identified high gene flow and two genetic units, with genetic bottlenecks and subsequent inbreeding in both of them, and propose potential management actions to avoid its extinction. Abstract An

Species distribution models rarely predict the biology of real populations
Species distribution models (SDMs) are widely used in ecology. In theory, SDMs capture (at least part of) species' ecological niches and can be used to make inferences about the distribution of suitable habitat for species of interest. Because habitat suitability is expected to influence population demography, SDMs have been used to estimate a variety ...
