Effect of inclusions on corrosion resistance of carbon steel
The marine environment significantly accelerates metal corrosion especially in underwater or undersea tunnels for high-speed rails, where the life of the metals will be shorter than normal life time; moreover, this type of corrosion critically affects ...

Phase-field modeling for pH-dependent general and pitting corrosion of iron
This study proposes a new phase-field (PF) model to simulate the pH-dependent corrosion of iron. The model is formulated based on Bockris’s iron dissolution mechanism to describe the pH dependence of the corrosion rate.

Corrosion behaviour of brazing material AA4343 [PDF]
This paper is part of a work devoted to corrosion of brazed AA4343/AA3003/AA4343 materials on water side of automotive heater cores. The microstructure of the superficial resolidified AA4343 brazing material has been previously characterised [1] and [2].

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Effect of Sigma Phase Precipitation on the Pitting Corrosion Mechanism of Duplex Stainless Steels
A new phenomenon of the pitting corrosion of three duplex stainless steels (DSSs), SAF2205, SAF2507 and Z3CN20.09M, induced by sigma phases is found and discussed.

Excess Ca2+ ions activate the Calcium‐Sensing Receptor (CaSR), which subsequently drives the uptake of excess inorganic phosphate (Pi) via the Pi transporter (Pit−1) in chondrocytes. This mechanism causes a toxic increase in intracellular Pi concentration, ultimately leading to chondrocyte apoptosis and pathological mineralization. Excess extracellular

Insights Into the Antigenic Repertoire of Unclassified Synaptic Antibodies
ABSTRACT Objective We sought to characterize the sixth most common finding in our neuroimmunological laboratory practice (tissue assay‐observed unclassified neural antibodies [UNAs]), combining protein microarray and phage immunoprecipitation sequencing (PhIP‐Seq). Methods Patient specimens (258; 133 serums; 125 CSF) meeting UNA criteria were profiled;

Objective Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon due to the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of the vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.
