Ambrosiophilus pityogenes (Schedl, 1936) comb. nov. Xyleborus pityogenes Schedl, 1936b: 534. Cyclorhipidion pityogenes (Schedl): Wood & Bright 1992: 701. Remarks. The holotype (NHMW) has been examined by RAB.The species has the characteristics of Ambrosiophilus given above for A. bispinosulus and is here transferred to that genus.

Pityogenes quadridens (Hartig, 1834) Distribution in Iran. Mazandaran (Samin et al. 2011). General distribution. Europe, through Russia to the Far East, Turkey, Kazakhstan. Biology. The species usually breeds in species of Pinus, but occasionally attacks Abies, Larix and Picea (Pinaceae) (Stark 1952, Schedl 1962). Recorded in Iran from Picea orientalis
