On Improvement of Characteristic Instability and Internal Flow in Mixed Flow Pumps

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2008
The difference of pump characteristics between two kinds of mixed flow pumps with low specific speed of 350 (min-1, m3/min, m), which have the same impeller and the different diffuser vanes, is presented in the present paper.

A Comprehensive Library of Stenosis Geometrical Models: Review and Guidelines for Hemodynamic Simulations and Stent Design

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2026.
Classification of blood flow regimes: Spatial variation of endothelial shear stress (ESS) patterns across an atherosclerotic lesion. ABSTRACT Accurate geometrical representation of stenosis is essential for stent design, surgical planning, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, as even minor shape variations significantly alter hemodynamic

Flow Structure of a Coaxial Circular Jet with Axisymmetric and Helical Instability Modes

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
The flow structures in a coaxial jet with axisymmetric and helical instability modes for a comparatively low Reynolds number were investigated. The flow visualization and the measurements of velocities were carried out in an open water tank. In addition,

High-Reynolds-Number Flow past a Pipe

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2013
The present aim is to reveal the flow past a pipe which is immersed parallel to the mainstream at high Reynolds numbers. In a wind tunnel, we carry out (1) base-pressure measurements, (2) velocity-fluctuation measurements using a hot-wire anemometer and (

Laser‐Driven Halide Exchange and High‐Resolution Multicolor Patterning of Perovskite Films

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Translating the excellent properties of metal halide perovskites (MHPs) into practical flexible optoelectronic devices requires high‐resolution multicolor patterning techniques that are compatible with post‐fabrication processing. However, such a capability has remained elusive.

Characteristics, Motivation, and Challenges of Global Research on Dengue Vaccination

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 36, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Due to the sharp increase in dengue infections in recent years, developing effective and regionally adapted vaccines is imperative. This requires research strategies aimed at vaccines that are free of side effects and effective for all four serotypes.

Two‐Photon Microbubble Printing: Asymmetric Assembly for Continuous Laser Writing

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 18, 25 March 2026.
Two‐photon microbubble printing is reported that combines nonlinear photochemistry with thermally driven fluid dynamics. At the laser focus, a distorted vapor bubble induce a strong rear‐to‐front convective flow. By enabling asymmetric assembly, this method allows the continuous formation of nanoparticle aggregates from a wide variety of materials ...

Heat Transfer in Segregated Fluidized Beds Part 2: Particle Motion and Its Effects on the Heat transfer in the Segregated Fluidized Beds

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2007
In our previous paper, particle and temperature segregations in a fluidized bed of binary particle mixtures were experimentally examined, and heat transfer in the segregated fluidized bed was investigated.

Investigating the Effect of Internal Waves on Vertical Ice Melting Rates

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Polar ice sheets are losing mass as a result of ocean‐driven melting processes and thus affecting global climate and sea level. Understanding the relevant dynamics and interactions at the ice‐ocean interface is crucial to developing more accurate sea‐level rise projections, but key ocean processes have not yet been considered in detail.
