Das Lewis‐Antigen Lea ist ein selektiver Ligand für Lectin B in P. aeruginosa. Die Untersuchung einer wichtigen Wasserstoffbrückenbindung in diesem Komplex hat wichtige Auswirkungen für die Antibiotikaforschung. Durch die Entwicklung der stereoselektiven Fluor‐Fucosylierung war es möglich, F‐Lea als strukturbiologisches Werkzeug zu entwickeln.
