Linguistic Validation of the Phenylketonuria - Quality of Life (PKU-QOL) Questionnaire Into Brazilian Portuguese

open access: yesJournal of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Screening, 2019
The phenylketonuria - quality of life (PKU-QOL) questionnaire was developed to assess the impact of phenylketonuria (PKU) and its treatment on the health-related quality of life (HRQL) of patients and their caregivers.

Dependence of 3D Self-correlation Level Contours on the Scales in the Inertial Range of Solar Wind Turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 883:L9 (6pp), 2019 September 20, 2019
The self-correlation level contours at the 1010 cm scale reveal a 3D isotropic feature in the slow solar wind and a quasi-anisotropic feature in the fast solar wind. However, the 1010 cm scale is approximately near the lowfrequency break (outer scale of turbulence cascade), especially in the fast wind.

Leveraging Organ‐on‐Chip Models to Investigate Host–Microbiota Dynamics and Targeted Therapies for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 10, April 15, 2025.
The challenges of studying inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), highlighting limitations of traditional 2D cell cultures and animal models are discussed here. It introduces human intestine organ‐on‐chip (OoC) models as a promising alternative, capable of more accurately mimicking the intestinal microenvironment.

Emotional health in early-treated adults with phenylketonuria (PKU): Relationship with cognitive abilities and blood phenylalanine

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Experimental Neuropsychology, 2019
Introduction: Mental health, physical health, and cognitive skills have been scarcely investigated in the same sample of adults with PKU (AwPKU). This is striking since emotional difficulties may potentially contribute to cognitive impairments and vice ...

Delivery of A Chemically Modified Noncoding RNA Domain Improves Dystrophic Myotube Function

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CYTOR is a pro‐myogenic ncRNA in skeletal muscle. Here, chemical probing of CYTOR, coupled with functional cellular assays identifies exon 2 as an independent myogenic RNA domain. Chemical engineering of CYTOR exon 2 RNA improves pharmacologic properties, including RNA stability and cell‐autonomous immunogenicity.

Glycomacropeptide: long-term use and impact on blood phenylalanine, growth and nutritional status in children with PKU

open access: yesOrphanet Journal of Rare Diseases, 2019
In phenylketonuria, casein glycomacropeptide (CGMP) requires modification with the addition of some essential and semi essential amino acids to ensure suitability as a protein substitute.

Possible evidence for the pulsed X-ray emission from outer gap in PSR B1937+21? [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophys.J. 578 (2002) 385-390, 2002
The fastest millisecond pulsar PSR B1937+21 presents an interpulse separated from the main pulse by nealy 180^o at radio frequencies. Recently, the ASCA observations (Takahashi et al. 2001) detected pulsed X-ray emission from this pulsar. Only a single narrow X-ray pulse is observed, which is coincident with the radio interpulse in phase.

A Copper‐Based Photothermal‐Responsive Nanoplatform Reprograms Tumor Immunogenicity via Self‐Amplified Cuproptosis for Synergistic Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces cuproptosis nanoplatform, a novel nanoplatform using Cu2−XS hollow nanospheres, elesclomol, and lauric acid (LA) for self‐amplified cuproptosis. NIR‐II laser activation melts LA, releasing copper ions and elesclomol to enhance copper delivery within tumor cells, reduce glutathione's inhibitory effect, and trigger immunogenic cell ...
