Toward Enhanced Inertial Sensing via Dynamically Soft Topological States in Piezoelectric Microacoustic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A piezoelectric microacoustic wave device exploiting topologically protected interface states with significantly higher dynamic compliance than Lamb or Rayleigh modes achieves record‐high out‐of‐plane particle velocities exceeding 51 m/s. These findings indicate that leveraging topological interface states can overcome key limitations of piezoelectric ...

Robust Interlayer Exciton Interplay in a Twisted van der Waals Heterotrilayer on a Broadband Bragg Reflector up to Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, we highlight a unique material platform capable of producing three distinct room temperature (RT) photoluminescence (PL) resonances from spatially separated regions composed of a heterobilayer (HBL), a homobilayer (HoBL), and an heterotrilayer (HTL) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) heterostructures configuration on a highly ...

Single‐Step Recovery of Water from Stable Crude Oil‐Water Emulsion Using Surface Engineered Hybrid Inorganic‐Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Atomic layer deposition is used to conformally surface engineer polymeric membranes to fabricate inorganic–organic hybrid membranes. These membranes have exceptionally strong attraction toward water even in high oil containing emulsions, which leads to an extremely strong hydration layer at the interface.

Petrographic and Geochemical Analysis of Indus Sediments: Implications for Placer Gold Deposits, Peshawar Basin, NW Himalaya, Pakistan [PDF]

open access: yesMinerals (Basel, Switzerland), 2022
Alluvial placer gold deposits that accumulate in streams across the globe are essentially allochthonous sedimentary deposits that are transported from their source to their location of deposition.

Ancient placer gold deposits

1991
In this chapter, ancient placers refer to deposits of Archaean and early Proterozoic age. Because each deposit may cover hundreds of square kilometres, they present economically attractive exploration targets. Individual ancient placer deposits like the Steyn/Basal placer in the Welkom goldfield of South Africa have produced in excess of 4500 t (metric

Rare Earth Elements Geochemistry and 234U/238U, 235U/238U Isotope Ratios of the Kanyakumari Beach Placer Deposits: Occurrence and Provenance [PDF]

open access: yesMinerals (Basel, Switzerland), 2023
Geochemical studies of rare earth elements (REEs) as well as major and trace elements were conducted on the beach placer sands from the Kanyakumari coastal region, a well-known high background natural radiation area (HBNRA).
