Quality assurance in planning a radon measurement survey using PDCA cycle approach: what improvements?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering, 2019
This work is focused on effectiveness of adopting the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle model, also known as Deming cycle, for an analytical laboratory management.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Management of Hepatitis B Virus Reactivation after the Completion of Cancer Chemotherapy using a Plan-do-Check-Act Cycle

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Research Updates, 2022
The reactivation of the hepatitis B virus (HBV) following systemic chemotherapy reportedly caused acute liver dysfunction as a fatal complication. HBV reactivation sometimes occurs even after the cessation of chemotherapy, especially in the patients with hematological malignancies.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

‘Paradise by the Dashboard Light’: Working with a Simple PDCA Cycle at Avans University of Applied Sciences

open access: yesLiber Quarterly: The Journal of European Research Libraries, 2012
The intention of this paper is to share some of our experiences with implementing a simple ‘Plan Do Check Act’ (PDCA) cycle within our Learning and Innovation Centre (LIC). The PDCA-cycle is a never ending cycle designed to improve quality and efficiency.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
