k-Quasi-Planar Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A topological graph is \emph{$k$-quasi-planar} if it does not contain $k$ pairwise crossing edges. A topological graph is \emph{simple} if every pair of its edges intersect at most once (either at a vertex or at their intersection). In 1996, Pach, Shahrokhi, and Szegedy \cite{pach} showed that every $n$-vertex simple $k$-quasi-planar graph contains at ...

Critical Role of Polymer Gate Dielectrics on the Charge Carrier Transport in Perovskite Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Charge transport in 2D tin perovskite FETs is shown to be governed by dielectric interface behavior. Polar polymer dielectrics induce dipolar disorder that localizes carriers, whereas nonpolar polymers suppress trapping and enable superior charge transport, ensuring stable and reliable transistor operation. ABSTRACT Understanding the role of interfaces

Kinetic Regimes of Hydrogen Absorption in Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Knowledge of the hydrogen incorporation mechanisms in thin layers in relation to the amount absorbed is essential to design coatings and devices compatible with hydrogen‐based technologies. A combination of simultaneous in situ methods gives detailed insight into the hydrogenation of a prototypical hydrogen absorber layer in a time‐dependent manner ...

Assembly of Cell‐Seeded 3D Printed Hydrogel Modules with Perfusable Channel Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Macroscale assembly was utilized to prepare perfusable tissue constructs from individually 3D printed hydrogel modules with embedded branched channel networks and port arrays for cell seeding. Novel multi‐material bioreactors were fabricated to facilitate the gluing of individual modules and the perfusion culture of assembled modular constructs seeded ...

Subdivisions in Planar Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B, 1998
Given four distinct vertices in a 4-connected planar graph \(G\), we characterize when the graph \(G\) contains a \(K_4\)-subdivision with the given vertices as its degree three vertices. This result implies the following conjecture of Robertson and Thomas: a 5-connected planar graph has no \(K_4\)-subdivision with specified degree three vertices, if ...

Chirality and Organization of Adsorbates Modify Surface Phonon Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chirality and molecular organization are shown to influence surface phonon dynamics in gold films. Time‐resolved Joule heating measurements reveal that ordered homochiral monolayers increase the Debye temperature and disordered layers reduce it, while ordered racemic controls have no effect.

Bifurcation, chaotic behaviors and solitary wave solutions for the fractional Twin-Core couplers with Kerr law non-linearity

open access: yesScientific Reports
The main purpose of this article is to analyze the bifurcation, chaotic behaviors, and solitary wave solutions of the fractional Twin-Core couplers with Kerr law non-linearity by using the planar dynamical system method.
