Planar-Coil Displacement Sensors

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002
<div class="htmlview paragraph">More and more automotive applications require exact position sensing. Today resistive potentiometers are the most frequently used sensors. For reasons of reliability, there are increasing demands to replace these kinds of sensors by contactless displacement sensors, with almost no increases in the system costs.</

Development of Planar Oxygen Sensor

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2001
<div class="htmlview paragraph">In preparation for compliance with California's SULEV standard and Euro STAGE 4 standard, which will take effect in 2002 and 2005, respectively, we have developed a laminated planar oxygen sensor. The developed sensor has the following characteristics: high thermal conductivity and superior dielectric ...

The Planar Multipole Resonance Probe: Challenges and Prospects of a Planar Plasma Sensor

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2015
A novel compact plasma sensor applicable for the supervision and control of industrial plasma processes is presented in this contribution. Based on the multipole resonance probe (MRP), the new planar MRP (pMRP) is introduced as a powerful and economical monitoring tool, flush-mounted into the reactor wall.

Protein adsorption to planar electrochemical sensors and sensor materials

Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2004
Abstract In electrochemical sensing devices, aimed for acute and chronic in vivo application, the active surface of the sensor is often negligible compared to the overall surface area of the device in contact with the biological host.

User acceptance of planar semiconductor fingerprint sensors

2015 International Carnahan Conference on Security Technology (ICCST), 2015
This paper is focused on the user acceptance of biometric recognition, specifically on fingerprint. Usually, when designing and developing technological products, key factors related to usability are not properly driven involving missuses or technology rejection. User acceptance, which is linked somehow or other to usability is one of those key factors

Multilayer PCB Planar Fluxgate Magnetic Sensor

2006 Ph.D. Research in Microelectronics and Electronics, 2006
This paper presents two high sensitivity vector-2D magnetic sensors for low magnetic field measurements. The sensors, based on the double axis Fluxgate principle, are realized in PCB technology. The amorphous magnetic material Vitrovac 6025X (25 mum thick) was used as a ferromagnetic core for the sensors.

Planar surface SLAM with 3D and 2D sensors

2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2012
We present an extension to our feature based mapping technique that allows for the use of planar surfaces such as walls, tables, counters, or other planar surfaces as landmarks in our mapper. These planar surfaces are measured both in 3D point clouds, as well as 2D laser scans.

Porous and Planar Silicon Sensors

2008
The development of novel sensors able to produce a response directly upon binding of a target biomolecular analyte remains a major area of research in materials science and analytical chemistry. As the primary “raw material” for the microelectronics industry, and because of its biocompatibility and optical properties, silicon has drawn considerable ...

Fluxgate sensor in planar microtechnology

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1990
Abstract A fluxgate magnetometer suitable for contactless reading of extremely weak sources such as documents in magnetic ink, has been developed using planar microtechnology. It is shown that the sensor can be miniaturized using a flat shape of core, which does not need to be surrounded by windings.

Mechanical characterization of nanowires by planar vibration sensor

The 8th Annual IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, 2013
Nanowires have attracted considerable interest as the nanoscale interconnects and as the moving elements of both electronic and electromechanical devices. The evaluation of nanomechanical property plays a significant role in the development of new nanowire-based devices.
