Trémaux trees and planarity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a characterization of planarity based on Trémaux trees (i.e. DFS trees), from which we deduce a rather simple planarity test algorithm. We finally recall a theorem on “cotree critical non-planar graphs” which very much simplifies the search ...

Regularity and Planarity of Token Graphs

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory, 2017
Let G = (V, E) be a graph of order n and let 1 ≤ k < n be an integer. The k-token graph of G is the graph whose vertices are all the k-subsets of V, two of which are adjacent whenever their symmetric difference is a pair of adjacent vertices in G.

On the planar edge-length ratio of planar graphs

open access: yesJ. Comput. Geom., 2019
The edge-length ratio of a straight-line drawing of a graph is the ratio between the lengths of the longest and of the shortest edge in the drawing. The planar edge-length ratio of a planar graph is the minimum edge-length ratio of any planar straight-line drawing of the graph. In this paper, we study the planar edge-length ratio of planar graphs.

Comparative study of resonance-inhibited hydrogen bonded (RIHB) systems with different atoms involved: the leading role of σ-planarity

open access: yes, 2019
O, S, Se, and P atoms are considered as different proton donor/acceptor moieties in the resonance-inhibited hydrogen bonded (RIHB) interactions to conduct a comparative investigation.

A Multiview Stereo Algorithm Based on Image Segmentation Guided Generation of Planar Prior for Textureless Regions of Artificial Scenes

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2023
Textureless building surfaces composed of homogenized pixels could lead to failure of photometric consistency. However, textureless regions widely present in artificial scenes usually exhibit strong planarity enabling depth estimation of textureless ...

Notes on Maskit's planarity theorem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
We give an account of the Planarity Theorem of Maskit. This gives a classification of finitely generated groups acting effectively properly discontinuously by orientation-preserving homeomorphisms on a planar surface.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Subgraph Homeomorphism via the Edge Addition Planarity Algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, 2012
This paper extends the edge addition planarity algorithm from Boyer and Myrvold to provide a new way of solving the subgraph homeomorphism problem for K2,3, K4, and K3,3.

Ordered Level Planarity, Geodesic Planarity and Bi-Monotonicity

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce and study the problem Ordered Level Planarity which asks for a planar drawing of a graph such that vertices are placed at prescribed positions in the plane and such that every edge is realized as a y-monotone curve.

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
