Analysis of the response surface method for optimising the flatness of ceramic-metal brazing
Ceramic-to-metal packaging is widely used as a key process in electronic vacuum devices in integrated circuit packaging, medical devices, and defence. The flatness of the two connections determines the reliability of the chip, and it is of great ...

The selection of solvent is pivotal in liquid-phase exfoliation (LPE), as an ideal solvent minimizes the energy required to disrupt the interlayer attractive interactions while stabilizing exfoliated layers to prevent re-agglomeration.

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Towards Defect Phase Diagrams: From Research Data Management to Automated Workflows
A research data management infrastructure is presented for the systematic integration of heterogeneous experimental and simulation data required for defect phase diagrams. The approach combines openBIS with a companion application for large‐object storage, automated metadata extraction, provenance tracking and federated data access, thereby supporting ...

C-Planarity of C-Connected Clustered Graphs
We present the first characterization of c-planarity for c-connected clustered graphs. The characterization is based on the interplay between the hierarchy of the clusters and the hierarchies of the triconnected and biconnected components of the ...

Mg–Zn composites with a thickness of 0.21 mm were fabricated using roll bonding of a kirigami‐patterned Mg alloy inlay within a Zn matrix. Thermal activation following this process led to the formation of tailored intermetallic structures, which provided the composite with enhanced flexural strength.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

1-Planarity of Graphs with a Rotation System
A graph is 1-planar if it can be drawn in the plane such that each edge is crossed at most once. 1-planarity is known NP-hard, even for graphs of bounded bandwidth, pathwidth, or treewidth, and for near-planar graphs in which an edge is added to a planar

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.
