From Dark Photocatalysis to Photobattery‐Type Operation: A Re‐Functionalized Ti‐MOF for Solar Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ReCl47‐bpy is developed as a solar‐rechargeable, Re‐functionalized two‐dimensional metal–organic framework (MOF) for light‐driven charge storage and dark utilization. Re–bipyridine sites stabilize photoinduced electrons, enabling two complementary configurations: a MOF suspension for long‐lived charge retention and dark H2 evolution, and a spin‐coated ...

Disentangling Polaron Formation Pathways in Y6 by Probing Noninteracting and Interacting Chromophores via Transient Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The central role of both electronically interacting and noninteracting chromophores in the photogeneration of charges has been unambiguously identified by ultrafast pump‐probe spectroscopy in thin films of the prototypical non‐fullerene acceptor Y6. Onsager‐like autoionization from higher‐energy excitations on Y6 aggregates is found to control polaron ...
