Singulispaera mucilagenosa sp. nov., a novel acid-tolerant representative of the order Planctomycetales

Microbiology, 2011
Two novel strains of budding bacteria, Z-0071T and Z-0072, were isolated from dystrophic humified waters formed by xylotrophic fungi in the course of spruce wood degradation. The cells of both strains are coccoid (0.95–1.80 μm), nonmotile, single or arranged in pairs.

The Development of Media Suitable for the Microorganisms Morphologically Resembling Planctomyces spp., Pirellula spp., and other Planctomycetales from Various Aquatic Habitats Using Dilute Media

Systematic and Applied Microbiology, 1994
Summary A total of 257 strains of budding bacteria morphologically resembling members of the order Planctomycetales were isolated from various aquatic habitats by the use of different enrichment procedures and dilute media for isolation and cultivation. The habitats differed in many respects.

The first lines of divergence in the Bacteria domain were the hyperthermophilic organisms, the Thermotogales and the Aquificales, and not the mesophilic Planctomycetales

BioSystems, 2007
In order to establish whether the first lines of divergence in the Bacteria domain were the mesophilic or the hyperthermophilic organisms, we have performed a phylogenetic analysis on a concatenamer obtained from the fusion of 20 different proteins. The phylogenetic analysis carried out using five different methods has shown that, contrary to what is ...
