Abstract Let G be a plane graph, and let χk(G) be the minimum number of colors to color the vertices of G so that every two of them which lie in the boundary of the same face of the size at most k, receive different colors. In 1966, Ore and Plummer proved that χk(G)⩽2k for any k⩾3.

Advanced glycation end products promote the release of endothelial cell‐derived mitocytosis

Under diabetic conditions, AGEs induce mitochondrial damage in HUVECs, activating migrasome‐mediated mitocytosis. Migrasomes encapsulate damaged mitochondria and are released into the extracellular space, facilitating intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

On the skewness of the generalized Heawood graphs

By the skewness of a graph, we mean the minimum number of its edges whose deletion results in a planar graph. We determine the skewness of a large family of cubic bipartite graphs (which includes the Heawood graph as a special case).

Iron‐dependent lysosomal LDL oxidation induces the expression of scavenger receptor A in human THP‐1 monocytes

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

Co‐overexpression of the caloric restriction‐induced mitochondrial factors PGC‐1α and MIPEP upregulates Phospho1 expression in adipocytes

Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

The E3 ubiquitin ligase, RNF219, suppresses CNOT6L expression to exhibit antiproliferative activity

We identified RNF219 as a CCR4‐NOT complex‐interacting E3 ubiquitin ligase that targets the CCR4‐NOT subunit CNOT6L for ubiquitination. RNF219 directly binds to the DUF3819 domain of CNOT1 through its putative α‐helix spanning amino acids 521–542.
