Study on Topological Modification Method Considering Torsional Deformation of Double Planetary Gear Shafts

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2023
In order to solve the problems of eccentric load of planetary gear train and large impact of gear teeth meshing caused by torsional deformation of double planetary gear shafts under load, a topological modification method considering torsional ...

Minimal impact of spotted hyenas on livestock and endangered species in a prey‐rich ecosystem

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
The diet of large carnivores is of great interest to conservation managers, as it can reveal the extent of human–carnivore conflict and the impact of carnivores on species of high conservation priority. Metabarcoding of environmental DNA can identify species and is often more reliable than observational or morphological methods, particularly when it ...

Social organization and habitat use shape the gut microbiome of a marine fish

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
This study provides the first evidence linking habitat use—and to a lesser extent social organization—to gut microbiome composition in a wild marine fish. The results indicate that local habitat conditions are the primary driver of microbial variation, while social effects are detectable but weak.

Thermal Behavior and Operation Characteristic of the Planetary Gear for Cutting Reducers

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Bolter miners have been widely used in coal mining or excavation industries. Its efficiency is closely related to the performance of its cutting reducer, which is literally determined by the thermal behavior of the planetary gear set.

Collaborating in future states—Contextual instability, paradigmatic remaking, and public policy

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Public Administration, EarlyView.
Abstract Collaboration is ubiquitous in public policy life, with its presence and profile determined by prevailing governance conditions. Commitments to globalisation and marketisation in the latter part of the 20th century marked the onset of an era defined by collaboration, between and across tiers and spheres of government, with non‐state actors ...

REPRESENTING POLLUTION AT THE AGRARIAN–URBAN FRONTIER: Participatory Documentary Film‐Making in Bar Elias, Lebanon

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract The Beqaa Valley in Lebanon has become increasingly polluted, and residents are attributing illness to improper waste disposal and dumping. This article explores local epistemologies of pollution’s causes and effects in three films, which were researched and produced by local residents of Bar Elias, a small town in the Beqaa, which has rapidly
