Social organization and habitat use shape the gut microbiome of a marine fish

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, EarlyView.
This study provides the first evidence linking habitat use—and to a lesser extent social organization—to gut microbiome composition in a wild marine fish. The results indicate that local habitat conditions are the primary driver of microbial variation, while social effects are detectable but weak.

Collaborating in future states—Contextual instability, paradigmatic remaking, and public policy

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Public Administration, EarlyView.
Abstract Collaboration is ubiquitous in public policy life, with its presence and profile determined by prevailing governance conditions. Commitments to globalisation and marketisation in the latter part of the 20th century marked the onset of an era defined by collaboration, between and across tiers and spheres of government, with non‐state actors ...

Research on Dynamic Characteristic of Planetary Gear Train by Visualization Technology

open access: yes, 2011
Based on the multi-body dynamics theory and visualization technology, a planetary gear train system is studied in RecurDyn. The multi-body dynamics model of the 2K-H planetary gear train system is built to do the visual analysis on dynamic characteristic

REPRESENTING POLLUTION AT THE AGRARIAN–URBAN FRONTIER: Participatory Documentary Film‐Making in Bar Elias, Lebanon

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract The Beqaa Valley in Lebanon has become increasingly polluted, and residents are attributing illness to improper waste disposal and dumping. This article explores local epistemologies of pollution’s causes and effects in three films, which were researched and produced by local residents of Bar Elias, a small town in the Beqaa, which has rapidly

Optimization Design of 3Z(Ⅱ) Planetary Gear Train based on Parallel Selected Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2017
The optimization design method of 3Z( Ⅱ) planetary gear train is studied. The multiple object optimization model, whose objective functions are the minimum of volume of gear train and the maximum of transmission efficiency is built.

On the Meshing Efficiency of 2K-2H Type Planetary Gear Reducer

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2013
This paper proposes 2K–2H type planetary gear reducer and analyzes its meshing efficiency. First, according to the concept of train value equation, the kinematic design of 2K–2H type planetary gear reducers is carried out. Three 2K–2H type planetary gear

AGRICULTURE IN A SOCIALIST CITY: Towards an Alter‐Urban Political Ecology

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urban and Regional Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Urban political ecology has developed as a critique of capitalist urbanization. This article develops the concept of alter‐urban political ecology to define urban environments emerging not from capitalist urbanization but from efforts to transform it. Drawing on archival research and ethnographic fieldwork in five urban farms in socialist Cuba,
