The Next Generation Virgo Cluster Survey. XVII. A Search for Planetary Nebulae in Virgo Cluster Globular Clusters [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2019
Abstract The occurrence of planetary nebulae (PNe) in globular clusters (GCs) provides an excellent chance to study low-mass stellar evolution in a special (low-metallicity, high stellar density) environment. We report a systematic spectroscopic survey for the [O iii] 5007 Å emission line of PNe in 1469 Virgo GCs and 121 Virgo ultra ...

A New Generation of Photoionization Codes: Three‐dimensional Models. The Bipolar Planetary Nebula IC 4406

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1997
A three-dimensional self-consistent photoionization code is developed in order to build more realistic models for asymmetric and/or inhomogeneous photoionized nebulae. With these models the assumption of spherical or plane-parallel symmetry can be dropped and models with various geometries can be treated.

On the Physical Differences Between the Planetary Nebulae of the Galactic Centre Group and the Planetaries of the General Galactic Field [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1978
The mean physical parameters were estimated for the planetary nebulae of the two groups, regarded as a whole: planetaries of a general Galactic field (GGF), and those, belonging to a large group seen in the Galactic centre direction (CG).
