Reconstructed Monolithic RuNi Heterostructure Enables Hydrogen Production from Alkaline Seawater at Industrial Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In situ grown monolithic RuNiOx on nickel foam is reconstructed under cathodic conditions to yield a robust Ru/NiO heterointerface. This evolution optimized the surface hydrophilic‐aerophobic properties and tuned the adsorption affinity for key intermediates, thus delivering exceptional activity and durability for the hydrogen evolution reaction in ...

Temperature Thresholds Govern Microbial‐Mediated Dissolved Organic Carbon Dynamics in Coastal Ecosystems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coastal dissolved organic carbon (DOC) represents one of the largest reduced carbon pools on Earth, and they are influenced by temperature. Across 7.6–35.9 °C ranges, the microbial‐mediated DOC dynamics is characterized by three temperature thresholds.

A Modern Roman‐Inspired Concrete with Daytime Radiative Cooling Capacity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coolcrete, inspired by ancient Roman concrete, is a new cementitious material with photonic properties enabling passive daytime radiative cooling. Made from quicklime and zeolites, it reduces cooling energy demand, lowers CO2 emissions, and may eliminate urban heat islands.

Volumetric Additive Manufacturing of Dormant Catalytic Chemistries to Generate Silicone Micro‐ and Millifluidic Devices and Instant Molds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We describe use of a novel zero‐dose approach to tomographic volumetric additive manufacturing that has enabled us to print silicone micro‐ and millifluidic devices and instant molds within minutes. The silicones are polymerized using photoactivated dormant platinum photohydrosilylation catalysts that would traditionally be difficult to access in ...
