3D‐Printed Dual‐Doped Ag2Se‐Based Thermoelectric Films With Enhanced Thermal Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Sb–Se dual doping enhances the thermal stability of Ag2Se‐based thermoelectric systems. The compositionally tuned nano‐ink is printed into flexible films by direct ink writing (DIW), retaining improved thermoelectric properties after annealing up to 400°C.

Probing clouds in planets with a simple radiative transfer model: The Jupiter case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Remote sensing of planets evokes using expensive on-orbit satellites and gathering complex data from space. However, the basic properties of clouds in planetary atmospheres can be successfully estimated with small telescopes even from an urban ...

Omnidirectional Ultra‐Broadband Cu/TiO2 Metasurface Absorbers for High‐Efficiency Solar Thermal Conversion and Photothermal Plasmon‐Driven Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface shows selective solar–thermal energy conversion with high‐activity solar/laser‐driven chemistry. The breakthrough is co‐designing broadband FP‐cavity + plasmonic LSPR/SLR resonances in an ultra‐thin metamaterial so that it not only harvests the most efficient proportion of solar radiation but also suppresses mid and IR emissivity. Moreover,

Micromachined Double‐Membrane Mechanically Tunable Metamaterial for Thermal Infrared Filtering

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2025.
Herein, a mechanically tunable double‐layer plasmonic metamaterial leveraging the extraordinary optical transmission effect observed in subwavelength arrays of openings within thin metal layers is presented. The concept is experimentally validated by integrating the proposed metamaterial structure into an electrostatic parallel‐plate actuator to create

Autonomous Locomotion of Tensegrity Structure on Low‐Temperature Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A low‐temperature responsive tensegrity structure (LRTS) is constructed by integrating low‐responsive temperature liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) cables, nonresponsive cables, and stiff rods. The low phase transition temperature of LCE is achieved by introducing a new liquid crystal mesogen.

Infrared photometry and radiometry of the planets [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
The first observations of the planets Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn have been made in the far infrared at wavelengths between 304 and 300p using the Rice University Flying Infrared Telescope and crystal transmission filters cooled to liquid He ...

Cosmic Rays in Magnetospheres of the Earth and other Planets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This monograph describes the behaviour of cosmic rays in the magnetosphere of the Earth and of some other planets. Recently this has become an important topic both theoretically, because it is closely connected with the physics of the Earth’s ...

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...
