Molecular Hydrogen Chemisorbed on Unsaturated Coordinate Ti: A New Designed Materials for Hydrogen Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates defect engineering on TiO₂ surfaces to enhance hydrogen storage. It demonstrates that low‐coordinated Ti atoms enable molecular chemisorption of H₂ with optimal binding energy, facilitating reversible adsorption at room temperature.

An Atomic‐Scale View at γ’‐Fe4N as Hydrogen Barrier Material

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the efficacy of γ’‐Fe4N nitride layers, formed via gas nitriding, as hydrogen permeation barriers. Advanced characterization, hydrogen permeation analysis, and DFT calculations reveal a 20 fold reduction in hydrogen diffusion at room temperature.

Electrophotographic Powder Application for Surface Functionalization of Polymer Parts with Thin Silver‐Nanoadditivated Bactericidal Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Polyamide 12 powder nanoadditivated with laser‐synthesized silver nanoparticles is deposited and sintered on polymer parts via EPA‐PBF‐LB/P. The thin surface coating (140 µm) inhibits E. coli and S. aureus bacteria growth and significantly increases the UV light absorption, whereas the mechanical and thermal properties remain unchanged due to minimal ...

Aerosol Jet Printing of Superhydrophobic Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A novel method for creating spatially programmable superhydrophobic surfaces using an aerosol jet printer is presented. This technique allows precise deposition of micrometer‐sized polymer solution droplets onto a substrate, with control over surface morphology, microstructure, and wettability through solvent evaporation modulation.

Electrochemical‐Doping of Tungsten on Nickel‐Boron‐Phosphide Microspheres for Accelerated Industrial‐Scale Water Electrolysis at High Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The bifunctional W/NiBP (+) || W/NiBP (−) demonstrates superior overall water splitting (OWS) performance as compared to the benchmark of Pt/C (+) || RuO2 (−). Notably, the W/NiBP (+, −) exhibits an ultra‐low cell voltage of 2.68 V at 2000 mA cm−2 high current density as compared to the benchmark value of 3.29 V.

Durable Anti‐fogging Polymer Coatings Based on C,H Insertion Cross–linking (CHic) That Are User and Environmentally Friendly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Highly photoreactive polymer networks prevent fogging by forming uniform water films. Activated by visible light and cross‐linked by CH insertion, these coatings exhibit excellent water film formation, transparency, and durability, even after frequent washing.
