Flexible human-robot cooperation models for assisted shop-floor tasks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Industry 4.0 paradigm emphasizes the crucial benefits that collaborative robots, i.e., robots able to work alongside and together with humans, could bring to the whole production process.

DELP Treatment on Vision and Retinal Microcirculation in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: Report of Five Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Conflicts in Production Planning and Control Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
A wide variety of functions either comprise or interface with a Production Planning and Control (PPC) system. Some place demands on the system; some place constraints; some produce the the action; some monitor events and may initiate corrective demands ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

What is a good plan? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The word plan is in English both a verb and a noun, reminding us that to plan is a process resulting in a product, a plan. While the Last Planner System (LPS) is primarily focused on how to plan and control production, other planning concepts are more

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.
