Heat Stress and Gut Microbiome Dynamics in Poultry: Interplay, Consequences, and Mitigation Strategies

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat stress disrupts gut microbial balance in poultry, impairing nutrient absorption and immunity. This review outlines the interplay between thermal stress and microbiome dynamics and discusses integrative mitigation strategies, probiotics, phytogenics, cooling systems, and genetic adaptation to enhance poultry resilience.

Coordinated ubiquitination of OsHIPP56 and blast fungus MAX effectors by OsFBX388 regulates rice immunity

open access: yesAgriculture Communications
Protein ubiquitination by E3 ligases is crucial for plant growth and stress resistance. However, the mechanisms by which E3 ligases regulate rice immunity remain largely unclear.

Investigating the Heat Stability and Inactivation Conditions of Decapod Iridescent Virus 1 (DIV1)

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Heat treatment effectively inactivates decapod iridescent virus 1 (DIV1) under milder conditions than current WOAH recommendations. DIV1 infectivity was eliminated at 56°C for 30 min, 60°C for 15 min, or 70°C for 1 min, providing optimized heat treatment strategies for aquaculture biosecurity and seafood safety.

Integrating One Health to Mitigate the Emergence and Spread of Antimicrobial Resistance in Livestock and Aquaculture

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global threat driven by antimicrobial use in aquaculture and livestock. Resistant pathogens and genes can spread across humans, animals, and the environment through interconnected ecosystems. Using a One Health approach, this review emphasizes antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory strengthening, enhanced ...

Bioluminescent imaging of an oomycete pathogen empowers chemical selections and rational fungicide applications

open access: yesPlant Methods
Fungicides play an indispensable role in ensuring food security. However, rational chemical selection and fungicide precision application guidance remain constrained by the limitations in real-time monitoring of tracking pathogens within plant tissues ...
