Organic growth supplement stimulants for in vitro multiplication of Cymbidium pendulum (Roxb.) Sw.

open access: yesHorticultural Science, 2012
The aim of this study was to establish protocol for in vitro regeneration and multiplication of Cymbidium pendulum through protocorms, as explants using organic growth supplements such as banana homogenate, coconut water, and peptone.

Plant Tissue Culture Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Optimal growth and morphogenesis of tissues may vary for different plants according to their nutritional requirements. Moreover, tissues from different parts of plants may also have different requirements for satisfactory growth [1]. Tissue culture media were first developed from nutrient solutions used for culturing whole plants e.g.

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

In vitro cloning of Azadirachta indica from root explants

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2011
In vitro cultures of Azadirachta indica A. Juss. were raised by first culturing the root segments on modified Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 8.88 μM 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP), 9.84 μM N6-(2-isopentenyl) adenine (2iP), 5.71 μM indole-3 ...

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

The Growth Response of Several Potato Genotypes (<i>Solanum tuberosum</i> L.) to Induced Water Stress Using Sorbitol and Polyethylene Glycol

open access: yesNotulae Scientia Biologicae, 2016
The current paper aimed to study the in vitro response of potato genotypes to water stress induced by adding sorbitol and polyethylene glycol in the culture medium. The biological material analysed in the experiment was represented by a Romanian line ‘LP

Highly multiplexed digital PCR assay for simultaneous quantification of variant allele frequencies and copy number alterations of KRAS and GNAS in pancreatic cancer precursors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining melting curve analysis enhances the multiplexing capability of digital PCR. Here, we developed a 14‐plex assay to simultaneously measure single nucleotide mutations and amplifications of KRAS and GNAS, which are common driver genes in pancreatic cancer precursors. This assay accurately quantified variant allele frequencies in clinical samples
