A comparison between water uptake and root length density in winter wheat: effects of root density and rhizosphere properties

open access: yes, 2020
© 2020, The Author(s). Background and aims: We aim to quantify the variation in root distribution in a set of 35 experimental wheat lines. We also compared the effect of variation in hydraulic properties of the rhizosphere on water uptake by roots ...

Influence of crop management on formation of yield components of winter oilseed rape

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2019
The habitus of oilseed rape and its yield component values can be strongly affected by the structure of its stand. Field experiments took place in Central Bohemia in years 2013-2015 aiming at determining the influence of row-spacing (12.5, 25, 35 and 45 ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Source-to-Sink Translocation of Carbon and Nitrogen Is Regulated by Fertilization and Plant Population in Maize-Pea Intercropping

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Translocation of carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) from vegetative tissues to the grain sinks is critical for grain yield (GY). However, it is unclear how these processes respond to crop management practices when two crops are planted in relay-planting system.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

High Planting Density Combined with Delayed Topping Improves Short Fruiting Branch Cotton Yield by Enhancing Biomass Accumulation, Canopy Light Interception and Delaying Leaf Senescence

open access: yesAgronomy
Short fruiting branch cotton (SFBC) has a compact plant architecture suitable for dense planting. Plant population density (PPD) and topping are important agronomic practices to achieve high yielding by optimizing cotton plant structure.

The effects of integrated management on yield, yield components and weed control of bean [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های حبوبات ایران, 2015
Introduction Bean is one of the most important legumes worldwide for direct human consumption and is a rich source of protein and carbohydrates. Bean is weak to compete with weed because of the retard growth at the early stages.
