Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Edge-Cloud Remote Sensing Data-Based Plant Disease Detection Using Deep Neural Networks With Transfer Learning

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
These days, the disease among different plants has been increasing day by day. It is a very hard task for government institutions and farmers to collect data on plant diseases from different distributed lands among regions.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

The impact of fine-tuning paradigms on unknown plant diseases recognition

open access: yesScientific Reports
Plant diseases pose significant threats to agriculture, impacting both food safety and public health. Traditional plant disease detection systems are typically limited to recognizing disease categories included in the training dataset, rendering them ...

Plant Disease Detection Using Self-Supervised Learning: A Systematic Review

open access: yesIEEE Access
Agriculture has a crucial role in both the economy and food supply. However, the frequent occurrence of plant diseases can have a significant negative influence on the production of foods.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
