Plant Limitations to Fiber Digestion and Utilization [PDF]
Energy availability from forages is limited by fiber concentration because fiber is slowly and incompletely digested, whereas cell solubles are almost completely digested. Thus, the proportion of fiber to cell solubles is a major determinant of energy availability in forages. Grasses normally have more fiber than legumes, especially in leaves.

A study on some properties of thin biocomposites made from unbeaten wood and non-wood pulps
A number of thin biomaterials were prepared via a wet formation method from seven different unbeaten plant fibers without using any chemical additives. It is noted that sheets made with short fibers (Flax-B: 0.32 mm and Straw-UB: 0.36 mm) and high fine ...

Plant foods, fiber, and rectal cancer [PDF]
Associations between colon and rectal cancer and intakes of vegetables, other plant foods, and fiber have stimulated much debate. We examined the association between rectal cancer and plant food and fiber intakes.Data from 952 incident cases of rectal cancer were compared with data from 1205 population-based controls living in Utah or enrolled in the ...

Eco-friendly degumming of natural fibers for textile applications: A comprehensive review
Global fiber production contributes 107 million MT in 2018 and is expected to grow 145 million MT by 2030. Fiber production can be plant-based, animal-based, man-made, and synthetic fibers.
