Plant Functional Traits of Plants Species Colonizing Forest Gaps
In this research, we analyzed functional plant traits and life forms of plant species growing on five forest gaps in the Dinaric fir–beech forest in Slovenia. The forest gaps were created as a result of natural disturbances.

Plant Functional Traits, but Not Community Composition, Are Affected by Summer Precipitation and Herbivory in an Old‐Field Ecosystem [PDF]
Both precipitation and herbivores can independently control plant community composition and ecosystem function. However, few studies have experimentally examined the potential interactive effects of altered precipitation and herbivores on plant ...

Linking root exudates to functional plant traits. [PDF]
Primary and secondary metabolites exuded by plant roots have mainly been studied under laboratory conditions, while knowledge of root exudate patterns of plants growing in natural communities is very limited.

Integrating multiple plant functional traits to predict ecosystem productivity. [PDF]
AbstractQuantifying and predicting variation in gross primary productivity (GPP) is important for accurate assessment of the ecosystem carbon budget under global change. Scaling traits to community scales for predicting ecosystem functions (i.e., GPP) remain challenging, while it is promising and well appreciated with the rapid development of trait ...

Plant functional traits have globally consistent effects on competition. [PDF]
Phenotypic traits and their associated trade-offs have been shown to have globally consistent effects on individual plant physiological functions, but how these effects scale up to influence competition, a key driver of community assembly in terrestrial ...

ANALYSIS OF FUNCTIONAL LEAF TRAIT VARIATION AMONG THE DOMINANT UNDERSTOREY SPECIES IN THE PINE FOREST OF MORNI HILLS, PANCHKULA, HARYANA [PDF]
The functionaldiversity is an essential concept in the field of ecology. It refers to the relative abundance, range, and value of the functional traits present in a given community or ecosystem.
