ABSTRACT Rhodoliths, formed by crustose coralline algae (CCA), are prominent components in carbonate platform deposits, contributing to the characteristic rhodalgal facies. Their formation is influenced by both biological and physical factors, and under specific conditions, they can accumulate, forming extensive rhodolith beds.
