Serratia rubidea — an associative plant growth promoting nitrogen fixing microorganism

Zentralblatt für Mikrobiologie, 1991
Summary By isolating diazotrophic bacteria from wheat roots, strains of the genus Serratia were found. These are motile, gram negative rods (1.5·0.3 μm) without spores, reserve material or capsules. The specific nitrogenase activity reached 228.4 nmol C2H4 per milligram protein and hour.
