Dual functions of GmTOE4a in the regulation of photoperiod-mediated flowering and plant morphology in soybean

open access: yesPlant Molecular Biology, 2015
Flowering time, maturity, and plant morphology have considerable effects on the adaptation and grain yield of soybean (Glycine max). The identification of novel genes and an understanding of their molecular basis are critical to improve soybean ...

RELATIONAL PLANT MORPHOLOGY

Nature, 1946
ALTHOUGH occasional protests have been made by plant morphologists for many years against the inflexible framework of morphological concepts to which they have felt compelled to adhere in interpreting their experimental data, little attempt has been made to discard the defective outlook of traditional morphology in favour of something more adequate ...

The genetics of plant morphological evolution

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2002
Considerable progress has been made in identifying genes that are involved in the evolution of plant morphologies. Elements of the ABC model of flower development are conserved throughout angiosperms, and homologous MADS-box genes function in gymnosperm reproduction.

Morphology of Microtubules of Plant Cell

Science, 1964
The microtubules present in the cortices of plant cells are found to have a wall made up of slender filamentous subunits, probably 13 in number, which have a center-to-center spacing of about 45 angstrom units. Thus the micromorphology of these tubules is similar to that reported for the 9 + 2 fibrils of rat sperm flagella.

QTL for plant growth and morphology

Current Opinion in Plant Biology, 2003
Individuals and strains within most species exhibit heritable, and sometimes dramatic, differences in their growth and morphology. Advances in marker genotyping and statistical methods have increased the precision and sensitivity with which the quantitative trait loci (QTL) that are responsible for these differences can be mapped.

Morphology and plant growth

1976
Any herbicide will result in changes of plant growth behavior at the microscopic level first and then visually at the macroscopic level. In the case of the triazines, where the inhibition of photosynthesis is the main metabolic interaction which leads to plant destruction, chlorosis is the first appearing principal type of injury symptom (Lynd et al ...

Comparative Morphology of Plants

Nature, 1936
THE appearance of a new and, what appears -I to be, an outstanding work on the comparative morphology of plants is quite refreshing, and may we hope that it will prove to be the herald of a reawakening interest in this most important branch of botanical science. Vergleichende Morphologie der hoherenPflanzen Von Prof.
