Nonconventional Techniques in Plant Alkaloid Extraction: A Decade of Progress (2014–2023)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
This figure seeks to represent the evolution of the different unconventional approaches that were adopted for the extraction of plant‐derived alkaloids during the decade from 2014 to 2023. ABSTRACT Plant metabolism encompasses primary and secondary pathways, with secondary metabolism yielding diverse natural products crucial for plant adaptation and ...

Anxiolytic Effects of Indole Alkaloids From Rauvolfia ligustrina in Adult Zebrafish: Involvement of the GABAergic and 5‐HT Systems

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Benzodiazepines are widely used in the treatment of anxiety, but their use may be interrupted due to side effects. This study evaluated the indole alkaloids isocarapanaubine (indole alkaloid 1 [AIN1]) and 18‐β‐hydroxy‐3‐epi‐α‐yohimbine (indole alkaloid 2 [AIN2]), extracted from Rauvolfia ligustrina, in adult zebrafish.

H2‐Assisted Synthesis of Nickel Phosphide Nanocatalysts for the Hydrogenation of Phenylacetylene at Low Temperature

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
H2 is employed as a reducing agent to ease the formation of monodisperse nickel phosphide nanoparticles containing a phase mixture. The colloidal suspension of nanoparticles is active at a low temperature of 30 °C and even down to 0 °C for the hydrogenation of phenylacetylene.

Operando X‐ray Absorption Study of TiO₂‐Supported Au, Cu, and Au–Cu Catalysts for Butadiene Selective Hydrogenation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Selective hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbons is crucial in the chemical industry for polymer production. Impurities formed during petroleum cracking can poison catalysts. Selective hydrogenation purifies these hydrocarbon mixtures and produces valuable butenes for polymer production.
